Platte Valley Kennel Club believes in the power of healthy competition to showcase the skills and qualities of pure-bred dogs. Our club organizes various dog shows, trials, and events where breeders and owners can demonstrate the exceptional abilities of their dogs. Having dogs compete and be judged as to how closely they represent their breed standard and perform in various sports helps you to know that any puppy from that dog has a greater chance of providing you a dog that matches your expectations for appearance, temperament and performance.
Purebred dogs compete in a variety of sports. They are recognizable as representatives of their breed. Come to one of our shows or trials and you will see all levels of dogs from the top dog representative of their breed to beginning puppies. You might see dog breeds that are well know as well as rarer breeds such as Kromfohrlanders, Portuguese Podengos, Spinone Italianos and Russian Toys!
Many dogs at our shows have gone on to be top dog nationally for their breed and competed on television in Conformation, Rally, Agility, FCAT, Obedience, Dog Diving and Flyball.
